Genomics England Research Summit 2023

Louisa Ghevaert was delighted to attend Genomics England Research Summit at the Design Center in London on 19 September 2023. It brought together the genomics community to continue to advance research and drive forward much-needed healthcare benefits and genomic medicine for patients, parents, children and families. It was particularly encouraging to hear about progress with the Newborn Genome Screening Programme.

BBC Radio 4 Woman’s Hour Interview: Posthumous Conception

During a BBC Radio 4 Woman's Hour interview with Anita Rani on 24 August 2023, Louisa Ghevaert was pleased to discuss posthumous conception law alongside Lauren McGregor, who gave birth to a son (Seb) in 2022 using her husband's stored sperm following his death from a brain tumour in July 2020.

British Fertility Society’s Modern Families Day 2023

Louisa Ghevaert is delighted to deliver a surrogacy law update as part of the British Fertility Society's Modern Families Day on 12 September 2023, forming part of the BFS's annual study week. Louisa will once again join an expert panel of speakers addressing clinical and legal issues, law reform and wider aspects associated with creating modern families through fertility treatment, egg and sperm donation and surrogacy.

Donor Conception Network’s 30th Anniversary

Louisa Ghevaert was delighted to attend the Donor Conception Network's 30th Anniversary celebration at 1GC Family Law in London on 23 June 2023. The event brought together donor conceived individuals and families, professionals, academics and supporters and highlighted the vital work being done by the Donor Conception Network across the UK.
